New Soul Kata EP Coming Soon

Soul Kata is excited to announce that a brand new EP will be coming soon. The first CD will be 1 of 3 EP’s that are scheduled to come out over the course of a year. Each concept EP album will feature the producing work and personal signature of each of the 3 original Soul Kata members (Katrina, Nate & Josh). The first EP is set for release by the end of the summer and will feature Katrina Kope’s handy work and vision. Recorded at the beautiful Mad Pants studio in Fremont just down the street from the big ol’ Fremont Troll. Recording engineer and man with the golden ears, Brad Laina, is currently putting the finishing touches on the final mix of the record. The EP will feature 3 brand-new original songs, which have already made their debut live on stage at recent shows. Each song will have a very unique flavor and feature the full 9-piece Soul Kata band. The new songs have a whimsical and humorous side, while also communicating life, love and poking fun at yourself. An actual release date is still being determined by the group, but the band estimates it’ll be finished before the end of the Summer. When the 3 EP’s are all released, the goal is to re-release the 3 as a full-album with extra features including video from the recording sessions, interviews, and possibly a disc with audio on 1 side and Soul Kata’s soon-to-be-released documentary about the making of and release of ‘Here I Am’ (our 2nd full-length album) which is available through Band Camp here: http://soulkata.bandcamp.com/

Soul Kata on Seattle Channel

Soul Kata is excited to be the musical guest on Nancy Guppy’s Art Zone show on the Seattle Channel. Nancy reached out to us and invited us to be a part of a special show that will air for the first time ever on 2 different channels. Art Zone is a Seattle Channel show and will broadcast on Friday, January 29th at 8:00pm. The following Wednesday, February 3rd the same show will air on KCTS Public Television at 7:00pm. So needless to say – Soul Kata is very happy about the oppertunity to be on TV. Watch for us.
