Nate Omdal
Like most professional musicians his age, Nate Omdal’s musical career began around the age of 15. But unlike most young musicians it was his ability to organize, conduct and arrange that gave him the opportunity learn and perform. As a 21st century, teen-aged, big band leader, Nate was able to organize a steady schedule of both private and public festivals and events all around the Puget Sound. For his involvement with his high school’s music program, Nate was chosen to recieve several awards and honors for his leadership as well as his musicianship. After high school, Nate enrolled at Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle, WA. While at Cornish, Nate continued to develop his musical skills and broaden his understanding of the modern music industry. While at Cornish, Nate studied with Chuck Deardorf, Ron Simon, Jovino Santos Neto, Julian Priester and Randy Halberstadt. After earning his B.A. in music performance, Nate was a member of the Qhromatics featuring Internationally recognized saxophonist Denney Goodhew, which was honored with an Earshot! Magazine Golden Ear Award nomination. In 2007 he co-founded an independent record label to support new and emerging northwest artists.
Nate has had the privilege of working with some of the cities finest musicians including Denney Goodhew, Jay Thomas, Matt Jorgensen, John Gilforth, Josh Rawlings, D’Vonne Lewis, Jason Parker and Michael Owcharuk. Nate continues to live and work in Seattle.
